Side Road - Left

Side Road Left signs appear on major roads where minor roads or laneways join from the left.

Common on National Primary and Secondary Routes, Regional Roads where local roads connect, approaches to housing estates and business parks, and rural roads where farm access lanes meet main routes.

These signs alert drivers on the main road to the junction hazard, while drivers on the side road face Yield or Stop signs requiring them to give priority.

The sign does not indicate that you must yield—it warns of the junction's existence.

A minor road joins the main road from your left ahead.

Traffic from the side road must yield to you, but remain alert for vehicles entering your lane.
